Rise of Online Shopping in India!
October 15, 2007E-commerce is seeing a steep rise according to Assocham (Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India). Two metros (Delhi and Mumbai) are driving this growth with each contributing 24% and 20% of the E-sales log on share respectively! It’s very surprising that Bangalore being the IT Hub of the country contributes a very meager 6%.Also the report which we covered out here forecasts that e-commerce will cross 9000 crores by Mar ‘08.
Though e-commerce is rising, grocery shopping is a unique space that hasn’t seen much action online. There have been many online shopping portals which sell consumer durables like Futurebazaar.com , indiaplaza.in and others but none have a menu for grocery shopping online. One may argue why would people shop groceries online? I think why not? I mean stuff like canned foods and eve perishables can be bought online! After all tomatoes will look and taste like tomatoes right? Though the quality conscious would still want to touch and smell stuff like tomatoes before buying them but nevertheless there will be those who would prefer buying them online.. (think bachelors and working couples!)

So catering to this very need is a new startup on the rise Storrz.com which is a product of JustOnDemand Technologies Pvt. Ltd, a firm based in Bangalore and claims to be the first Online Shopping Portal in India that allows customers to shop for groceries online and which also provides us with the option of swiping our credit/debit cards at the time of delivery. Besides credit card one can also use SodexHo Meal Passes. Storrz is an online mall which has got a variety of Branded Stores where we can shop from.

i dont know if this type of shopping is reliable or not .
I have tried shopping at storrz.com and i had a very good experience..Hope they continue the same in the future also..
I guess the Online Shopping Strategy of Storrz.com would work out because people are not too cautious when it comes to their daily needs which is just for a few bugs when you compare to shopping for jeweller , Electronic goods where the consumers are not entirely satisfied until they see the product live and feel them and then take the decision. My view, but would not say it is not working but would comparatively low for high end products
As far as I have noticed, if a fraud has to happen it could even happen at your local supermarket while swiping your credit cards, I find the internet safer if you use your card wisely. I was able to send all my top clients gifts for new years sitting at home.
